  1. wait. this is on the home website. just look at that one..
  2. on the stove
  3. My grandmother puts a little sugar on them and it's so good.
  4. When you were typing this question, how many examples came up below yours? I typed in "Best grilled cheese sandwich" and got 391 hits.
  5. on the stove or charcole grill
  6. it takes butter and heat. i like mine smashed with a spatula so their crispy and thin. with lay's potato chips.
  7. I can't make a grilled cheese worth crap! I always burn it no matter what! That's pathetic!
  8. Butter two pieces of bread on one side each, put two slices of cheddar cheese between the bread and cook it on a pan until the cheese gets melty.
  9. LOTS OF BUTTER!! I love buttery grilled cheese. I prefer cheddar cheese because it goes well with soup. I better stop before I make myself hungry.
  10. Toast the bread first. Use olive oil in the pan. Put a large slice of tomato in between chunks of gouda cheese. On whole wheat bread of course.
  11. You butter outside of the bread not the pan. Use 2-3 pieces of cojack or marble jack cheese.
  12. mmm with some butter on the bread and velvita cheese..
  13. probably put craft cheese on one side of the bread... put that on the stove with the cheese facing the pan, put the other slice of bread on the stove to toast it a little... and then just put it together!! :)
  14. I use homemade white bread, just a little butter, and three slices of pepperjack cheese. The cheese is all melty and yummy, and nothing is better than home-baked bread. Thinking about it almost makes me hungry enough to go make one!
  15. I take two pieces of white bread and I butter one side of each. On medium heat I spray pam, then I place one slice of bread butter side down, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on it, then put the other piece of bread butter side up. When the bottom part is golden, I flip it over and wait for that side to get golden. It lets the cheese in the middle get all gooey and melted ;)
  16. load the outsides of it with butter
  17. white bread and velveta cheese slices. put some margarine on one side of each bread slice and then put one bread slice (butter side down) on a greased frying pan and then cheese then the other bread slice. cook til each side of the bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. then cut it in an x!!! :D
  18. you will need texas toast, slice of american cheese, and a slice of colby jack cheese. Heat pan at the "3" setting on the stove. Place butter on bread slices, NOT in the pan. Lift occassionally to check for lt to med brown toasting, then flip and repeat.
  19. You butter each side of the sandwich with REAL butter. Not that margarine half the fat half the taste crap. Then place one slice of Kraft American cheese inbetween the bread. Not the Kraft cheese that comes in slices that you have to individually unwrap out of plastic. The real unprocessed unchessefood cheese. If it says processed cheesefood on the label you know you went wrong. Preheat the pan to medium heat and grill each side of the sandwich for about 30 seonds a piece.
  20. Mine are awesome. Get some texas toast and butter both sides. Get some sharp cheddar and cut off several thin slices. Stack the sandwich with several layers of the sharp cheddar. Set to medium heat and flip often until an even golden brown. Voila!
  21. Wow, more details people. I usually put some butter in the bottom of the pan instead of on the bread. While it's cooking move the pan around and let the butter crispify the edges of the bread. Or you can do it like the do in Benny and Joon. With a clothes iron. LOL!!
  22. Don't even try to spread butter on the bread. All you do is tear the bread up and get frustrated. Instead just melt the butter in the pan. I like mayo on my grilled cheese but my ex liked mustard - just dress it like you want. Also you can step it up by using both a slice of Cheddar AND some swiss or provolone as well. Yum!
  23. you need 2 inches of of hot canola oil in a the best conductor is for me rod iron skillet slice a loaf of itallian bread 1/2 inch thick mild or shap cheddard cheese cut thin or thick like you like brush a little melted butter between the bread and cheese slice long way vertically should be 3 pieces toss in the hot oil drain on papper towels There french made cheese sandwiches very rich so I donot advise you eat this more than once a month but they are great!
  24. If you don't mind adding ham, look for the classical french croque-monsieur in any cookbook. Delicious. If you have use for a panini maker, you can make a delicious grilled cheese sandwich in it. The pressure and the contact with the hot surface gives a crispy outside. But a simple frying pan or griddle will do fine too. Don't make the pan too hot. As expected, the cheese is most important. Personally I think that Emmentaler, Gruyere or Dutch Gouda make the best cheese sandwich. I sometimes add a pinch of paprika powder on the cheese. If you don't like imported cheese, try with an older type of Vermont, NY State or Wisconsin cheddar. The problem with young cheeses is that they produce puddles of goo while cooking. The older cheeses have given up some of hte moisture and make nice melted cheese.Enjoy.
  25. Right now i just read all of the answers and I DON'T GIVE A RIP ILL GO MAKE ONE RIGHT NOW !!! . . . . . . . . ok here's what you do . . . 1. slightly toast two pieces of white bread . 2.take a pan while they toast and smother it with butter ! 3. put cheese in the middle of the toast ( it doesn't matter what kind of cheese ) 4 . SLAP it on the pan and cook it until you burn the toast !
  26. I butter one side of two slices of bread. Put them on a griddle, on medium heat. I put cheddar cheese on each slice. And sprinkle some garlic powder to taste. I let the bread toast a little, then put the sandwich together and finish grilling it to the degree of doneness I like. Slice it diagonally, Serve. In the summer time I put a slice of homegrown tomato in the middle, between the cheese. There is nothing better in many ways. I will dip it in ketchup or ranch dressing.
  27. it all depends in the qualyty of the cheese my friend
  28. Hi I like to use 1 1/2 pieces of process cheese and when I am cooking it I put a little garlic salt on the bread...
