Can you make a panini sandwich in a George Foreman Grill?
Or will it burn the bread? Would only a panini press do the job? I have to many small appliances cluttering the kitchen as it is, so don't want to add another one. Thanks for the tip Tomato but I am a Muslim so I don't eat ham, which would be from a pig, which is forbidden, all other halal meats I can eat! and vegetables, a mexican vegitarian panini would be the best.

- I've never tried it........ but i'd guess it'd be fine. Try it and see........
- Yep just wrap in grease proof paper first.
- Yes. I can, and do.
- Yeah as i did for many years and they taste GREAT.
- should be ok i used to make toasted sandwiches with mine when i had one
- Well, if you only let it sit there for bit, there is a chance you could male the best god dang panini ever! It relies on timing!!!
- I haven't had a problem. I've also cooked meat in my panini press. They basically do the same job just fine. Not quite sure why I have both, just depends which one is the easiest to drag out and use, regardless of whether it's a sandwich or meat. I think they're interchangeable.
- Yes you can - it does not brown as much as a normal toaster - keep the temperature low at first then turn it up to brown it off
- yes and they taste just as good
- You sure can.The George Foreman is great for cheese and ham toasties.Try it u will not be disappointed.
- I do this on at least a weekly basis. When you use your Foreman as a panini press, just make sure that you lightly brush the bread with oil, and use a bread that is fairly sturdy. Also, don't make the sandwich too thick, as the hinge of the Foreman doesn't float as much as one on a real panini press and will make your sandwich thinner on the top edge then on the bottom.
- oh, gosh yes. (You can also make a panini with two pans & a brick for weight) I think a foreman would be perfect for that!
- I sure it can! It will give that nice grilled lines on the bread, It will only burn if you left it on there too long or the heat was too high.
- Yeah works not bad for panninis, not so good for toasties though it squishes the cheese out and you lose it all
- i used the george yesterday for panninis and they were lovely
- you can but u need to butter the outside of the bread really well, or grease the grill itself cos it just makes the bread really dry
- You can indeed, I have made ciabatta with mozerella and pesto/tomato/cucumber etc. Works well though you need a large enough Grill.
- oh yes,you can cook nearly anything in them there superb!!!
- I grill sandwiches, panini style, on my George Foreman all the time. I do not add oil, the bread does not burn and the sandwiches come out with the nice grill lines on both sides.
- I wouldn't think so if you kept a good eye on it. It should work.
- yeah of course
- yea the grill works great
- yes you can
