How do you cook a panini without a grill? Oven/Stove-top?

- cast iron skillet on the stove top, use a heavy pot to press it down, and then flip it so both sides can cook.
- stove top use a cast iron or heavy skillet use another for the weight
- Stove-top: Purchase a grill pan. These have "ridges" on the surface that create those signature grill marks.
- grill pan. it looks like this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5969630 I doubt you can make a panini without one. but a panini grill would be better. also, if you didn't get my answer to your other question on studying for ap euro history, go to course-notes.org. heres the euro history section: http://www.course-notes.org/European_History/Outlines/ It is literally everything you need to know for the exam. Im using it for my ap biology and us exam im taking in two weeks. good luck. I took the exam last year and trust me, these notes are the best. I wish I found out about it earlier, like in freshman year.
- put some soft/melted butter on one side of 2 slices of bread. put the buttered side down, put toppings on the bare side, put the other slice of bread(butter side up) on top. put the sandwich on a preheated(on medium) grill/skillet on the stovetop, press sandwich down w/a spatula til bottom is brown, carefully flip the sandwich and repeat.when browned to your liking eat it all up!!!!!!!!! enjoy
- heat up a frying pan and put another frying pan on top of the panini and Bon Appetit
- I'd use a pan-cake type griddle. The square type with slightly raised sides. You probably already have one. The only other item you'd need would be a Bacon Press. They are usually rectangular, made from cast iron and have a nice wooden handle. Most well stocked stores will have one. Make your sandwich, butter the out-sides of the bread, and cook one side at a time using the Bacon Press to hold all the goodies in place. I have a grill pan, and I LOVE to use it, I just HATE cleaning it, so I'd go for a nice flat griddle and pretend it has those neat stripes!!
