What type of bread should you use to make paninis?

Restaurants seem to have nice big soft rolls but where on earth do you buy them?

  1. ciabatta
  2. texas toast
  3. sour dough
  4. ciabbata
  5. Buy the ones in your supermarket that you heat up yourself at home. They're marginally better than the 'fresh' ones that go hard as soon as you get them unpacked, let alone made into a sandwich! Good luck -I have real trouble finding decent bread in any of my local supermarkets, especially, dare I say it.... Sainsburys! Their bread is utter cr*p. But then we can always vote with our feet, so I just don't buy it!!!
  6. I find that partly baked french baguette are ideal for paninis. They are available in most supermarkets
  7. Baguette's are nice, or Go to the supermarkets (Tesco etc) and you can actually buy panninis
  8. Traditionally you would use baguette-style or ciabatta. Focaccia is good too. You can even slice hamburger buns or hot dog buns, or use pizza dough if your choices are limited! If you have a bakery nearby or a supermarket with a good fresh bakery section, big soft rolls should be available there, but honestly, almost any good bread will do fine. 9. I use sourdough. Then again, I live near the bay area, so the sourdough is EXCELLENT.
  10. I think Foccacia is good, or any type of bread that hold its structure when you press it. Paninis is gooooodddddd......mm..mmm.mmm...
  11. sorry.. I'm Italian.. why do you call them paniniS?? panini is plural, panino is singular, it doesn't need an S now you know it! bye
  12. panino is italian for sandwhich so use any kind of bread you would normally use to make a sandwhich oh, and yeah, panini is plural, no need to add s
