Best Panini Grill

Are Progresso soups and / or the Lean Cuisine Paninis healthy lunch options?

Sine having surgery to have my gallbladder removed, I've been trying to eat better by eating mostly homecooked meals, but sometimes I don't have time or don't feel like cooking so I am looking for some heathy convevience food options. I really would like to avoid any takeout food. I'm looking for some good healthy options I can buy at the grocery store. Something already prepared for me that I can just heat and eat. I was thinking maybe Lean Cuisine dinners - the paninis look good, and maybe getting some Progresso soups. These foods I'm looking to get would be for lunch as this is when I am rushing trying to make myself something quick but healthy to eat (I have a newborn baby and sometimes I'll just grab whatever is on hand to eat). Would those things I mentioned above be good healthy options for lunch foods or what would be a better choice? (I have no problem with dinner as this is the time hubby comes home from work and he will watch the baby while I make a home cooked dinner)

  1. Yes they are. They are both part of the Weight Watchers options. www.dwlz.com
  2. While they are low fat and low cal, they are also high sodium, which can be bad. I'm not sure what your dietary needs are for your gallbladder problems, but I would ask your doctor if you need to monitor your sodium intake. If you do, these might not make the best options. If your doctor says it is fine, just make sure to drink plenty of water so you don't feel bloated! I eat Lean Cuisine myself a lot, and some of them are really good! I especially like the Santa Fe rice and beans, the lasagna, and the cheese ravioli. Also, if you want something really quick, try Morning Star veggie dogs. They have hardly any fat or cals, and are actually pretty good for you. If you have them thawed they only take 45 seconds in a regular microwave to keep up or a couple minutes on the stove top, and they taste just like real hot dogs! Good luck!
  3. anything that is processed and packaged is not healthy for you. Focus on fresh foods. Stay on the outside border of the grocery store and you can't go wrong. Good luck!
  4. I am on a low carb diet and last night i made the BEST broccoli and cheese soup and it only took about 7minutes to make what I did is get a can of cream of chicken soup and make it as usual but add frozen cheese and broccoli(bought at the store, green giant brande) and then added a couple of slices of american cheese, then waited until all the cheese was melted it WAS SO GOOD and was SOOOOO easy to make!!!! Its also really heathy!!!
  5. I do not think they are. One the sodium intake on those products are too much for one day, two the portions for the price not very good. What I do is when I buy veggies and or produce I wash them as soon as I get home cut up the veggies and store them in a tupperware or a zip lock ( get a fork and put a bunch of holes in it, tip i learned to keep the produce from getting mushy) Or I get salad ready mixes add some cucumber and what not and wash them put them all in t container and keep in the fridge for snacking or a light lunch.
