I need a recipe!?
ii need a recipie for my school cooking class. i need to cook something that can be ate cold like a lunchbox snack or something, very confusing i know. No fruit salads, no yoghurts, something that shows skill. Its what the teacher wants. Its got to taste nice because it is being taste tested. the teacher suggested some things like doughnuts and paninis but dont you think they are a bit boring? So a lunchbox snack that shows skill. Oh yeah also no pasta rice or soups.

- How about something like chicken or tuna salad? Those are eaten cold. This is my favorite recipe website: http://allrecipes.com/ Try going there and looking for "picnic food" and see what pops up. And yes, I think you could find something more interesting than doughnuts. Plus, aren't paninis usualy a hot toasted sandwich? I've never had one cold. I just read Crystal's answer and I think you should do sushi - you will probably be the only one in your class to think of that.
- Blueberry Muffins, Banana Bread, cookies, Pecan Pie, chocolate covered pretzles are a few ideas of things you can eat cold or room temp that need no refrigeration. Is this what your asking for?
- SUSHI! I LOVE SUSHI !!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
- make croissants and put chicken salad in it. allrecipes.com has lots of recipes that are all rated by people who have used them! I use this site all the time.
- How about vegetable sushi? julienned veggies rolled in cold rice, maybe a little dipping sauce on the side What about guacamole? It can sit at room temp and you can show your knife skills copping purple onion and cilantro Fruit kababs? Skill in chopping fruit, maybe w/ a little caramel dip I dunno! This is a hard assignment!

- Here's my favorite for a simple salad that is served cold. Here's what you'll need: Breast of Chicken Kidney Beans-drained and rinsed chopped lettuce Taco Seasoning Doritos Nacho Cheese chips Ranch Dressing 1. First boil up some breast of chicken. (Dark meat will work too but I prefer white meat.) 2.When the chicken is thoroughly cooked, make sure there is a little extra water in the pan and add in the taco seasoning. Bring it to a boil and then turn off the heat and let them mixture sit for about 20 minutes. 3.Mix in the rinsed kidney and gentle stir the mixture. Don't stir it too vigorously or you'll bruise the beans. 4. Leave the mixture in the refrigerator overnight. When you're ready for lunch add everything in the following order: 1. Bed of lettuce 2. Chicken, bean mixture 3. Nacho cheeses chips (I like to break them up first) 4. Ranch dressing The difference in the colors make a pleasing presentation and the flavors work well together.
- Banana Chocolate Chip Softies INGREDIENTS 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup butter, softened 1/4 cup light brown sugar 1 ripe banana, mashed 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Beat in the banana and egg, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until well blended. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts, if desired. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
- - strawberries covered in sugar. To add a some creativity drizzle a little chocolate on top after you've coated it with the sugar - peanut butter with apples. You could try cutting the apples into fun shapes. - lettuce wraps : grab a leaf smother it with peanut butter, add raisins roll it up (its a tasty snack I ate when I was younger)
- try snake skins-you need the flour tortillas, sugar, cinnamon cooking oil , fry pan (1) cut the tortillas into strips then put little cooking oil in pan heat on med take the strips and fry them a few seconds on each side remove and place on paper towel and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon they are ready to eat
- Chocolate covered pretzels Take pretzel rods, dip halfway in melted chocolate and then roll over mini m&ms.. They're tasty, colorful and show you took some time an effort to make them look pretty :)
