Does anyone have a good recipe for a grilled cheese? :)?
I know this may seem like a silly question but I was just wondering if anyone had an ideas on how to spice up a grilled cheese sandwich? I love grilled cheese sandwiches (Who doesn't?) but I was wanting to know if anyone had any receipes for something more GOURMET? I'd like to impress my friends by turning something simple into something FABULOUS! Thanks for the suggestions! You are on the right track. I'm hoping for some alternative cheese options. I usually use American cheese but that's boring! ;)

- I'm not sure. I put bacon on mine though if thats an idea.
- Most cheese sandwiches are made with American cheese. Be brave and try other cheeses. Fresh mozzarella and asiago are both good but try anything you want. I made some sandwiches the other day with the 5 cheese mexican blend with fresh fried bacon strips. Remember the joy of cooking is being experimental and trying whatever you think sounds good. If it doesn't work out just throw it out and try something else.
- Try mixing your cheeses. I've recently tried using multiple cheeses. I really like muenster. Provolone may go good with that as well, but I've never tried it. Using different cheeses than the cheap and average American cheese is the best advice I can give you. Go with different cheeses that you like from the store, and start experimenting and see what you like best. It's doubtful you'd go wrong (unless you used something gross like blue cheese).
- Put some ham slices on it
