Best Panini Grill

I tried to make a grilled cheese on a panini grill, what did I do wrong?

I buttered each side of my white bread, put two slices of american cheese between, and left it on medium. I checked on my grilled cheese and it had gone completely flat, and "mooshy" some of the cheese leaked out too. What did I do wrong?! Please help!

  1. it happens to me too. Th panini makers are made for more harder or tougher types of breaf or rolls. Not the regular white bread we tend to eat sandwhiches on. Try a different bread and you should be fine.
  2. Panini grills are best for sturdy breads. Regular white sandwich bread can be very soft and airy. The weight of the panini press will just flatten it.
  3. The bread is too soft for the heavier top on the panini grill and squished it.
  4. well, ive never tried to make them on a panini grill i usually make them in a skillet lol but maybe because paninis are already thin thats y and the bread was probly not a good choice of bread, and i looked at a panini and there pretty much squashed and gooey lol idk sorry i wasnt more help
  5. you need a heartier bread - panini's cook with gravity pushing down on the bread, so regular white bread will get crushed. if you want to make an easy grilled cheese, just toast bread with butter halfway in a toaster oven. then pull it out, flip it, and put it back in with cheese on each of the unbuttered sides. easy and delicious :)
